Christmas is now only 10 days away and I couldn’t be more excited! Who has all their presents bought and wrapped? We’ll done…I’m still steadily working my way through Amazon.
What I do have finished though is my Christmas tree! Its become a tradition now for me to make roasted citrus slices to decorate our tree so I thought I’d share with you how I make them.
What you need:
- 3 large oranges and 2 red grapefruit
- Sharp knife
- Preheated oven set at 100 degrees
Cut oranges and grapefruit into roughly 1cm thick slices and dab with kitchen roll to remove excess moisture place straight onto the oven rack or these oven chip trays as you can see below.
Bake for approx 4 hours with the oven door ajar flipping every so often to keep from burning.
Once wrinkled remove and put to the side to cool down.
Once cooled pierce a small hole with scissors and string up. I used wrapping string as I love the rustic feel it gives.
Decorate your tree and then stand back and admire.
The smell of a real Christmas real combined with the sharp scent of citrus is heavenly and gives off such a warming vibe.
Hope you like them 🖤
